You'd think all that space would come at a price. But with efficient engines and fuel-saving tyres the 5008
delivers up to 62.7mpg, making it one the of the most efficient cars in its class.
The 5008’s fluid lines mean that it cuts cleanly through the air. In fact, it’s achieved the best aerodynamics rating of any car in its class – a drag co-efficient of 0.29Cx for the versions with 16" and 17" wheels. Even if this statistic is too technical for you, you'll be impressed by enhanced fuel consumption it leads to.
The 5008 is one of the most efficient cars in its class, reaching 62.7mpg in the combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of just 117g/km. One reason for this is the Michelin Energy Saver Tyres, which are fitted on 16" wheels and can reduce resistance by 20% – in real terms, this means that in over 62 miles you’ll use 0.2 litres less fuel than you would with standard tyres.
Diesel versions of the 5008 are fitted with a high-performance particulate filter. This uses Peugeot’s own technology to trap soot particles emerging from the engine. It then burns them in a “regeneration” process controlled by the car’s computer. The FAP, as the filter is known, removes 99.9% of exhaust particles, making the New 5008 a sound choice for the environmentally conscious.
