Take your seat in Peugeot 308 to experience a new way of doing things, a way that gives the driver greater control. Welcome to the future. Welcome to Peugeot i-Cockpit.
The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® is the latest development in car interior architecture that centres around a driving environment that puts the you in control, allowing a greater connection to the road. Pure in its design, the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, with its intuitive layout is perfectly arranged for optimum pleasure. The four elements that are key to this are the compact sports steering wheel , the head up instrument panel, a 9.7" colour touch screen and a raised minimalist centre console.
To discover each of these integral features please see below.
At Peugeot we have quite literally reinvented the wheel. Measuring in at 351mm x 329mm, the compact sports steering wheel in the Peugeot 308 enhances every journey. Out on the road the compact dimensions increase the visibility of the cars instruments whilst in the corners it provides heightened responses.
When it comes to round town or navigating car parks its compact dimensions make light work of wheel winding to manoeuvre into a space. In terms of finish all models except Access level feature soft full grain leather trimming with intricate stitching, piano black and satin chrome detailing. Sports models benefit further from red stitch and perforation detail.
Positioned above the compact sports steering wheel, the head-up instrument panel provides key information directly in the your line of sight. As the panel is positioned higher, it is closer to the road, increasing safety when compared to a conventional steering wheel where the dials sit within the wheel, further from the road.
All Peugeot 308 models benefit from analogue dials and an LCD digital speed display, leaving you in no doubt of your rate of pace, the LCD display also shows cruise control and speed limiter set speeds. Sporty GT and GTi models also benefit from chequered flag dial background design and a model designation welcome message.
With crystal clear graphics, the 9.7" colour touch screen houses several key technological features on the Peugeot 308. As standard from Active level, this responsive touch screen features shortcut buttons for quick access to different menus. In-keeping with the Peugeot i-Cockpit theme, the touch screen is angled towards the driver.
All Peugeot 308 models featuring a touch screen benefit from standard satellite navigation with 5 years of free mapping updates and automatic dual-zone climate control allowing independent temperature setting for front seat occupants, amongst a wealth of other multimedia features.
Taking your seat in the Peugeot i-Cockpit allows you to appreciate its pure design. Here at Peugeot we believe in clearing the way, taking away what isn't required. A dashboard doesn't need a button for each of a cars features. Situated below the touch screen, the raised centre console features few visible buttons.
The console is dominated by a large volume knob, inspired by the world of premium Hi-Fi systems, a CD player can also be specified. This pure, minimalist approach ensures every journey in your Peugeot 308 is a serene and pleasurable experience.
At Peugeot we design our seating based on four key criteria: comfort, support, durability and style, which helps make every journey a pleasure. The Peugeot 308 features a choice of trims depending on level, shown to the left. Two types of seat design are also available with 'comfort' seats on lower levels and 'sports' seats from Allure level.
All versions feature height adjustable front seats. Active and Allure versions benefit from driver lumbar adjustment, whilst sports models feature lumbar adjustment for both driver and front passenger. The full grain nappa leather option enhances comfort even further, with electric lumbar adjustment and a back massage function.
For greater security on the move, the outer rear seats include Isofix mounting points to allow child seats to be fitted.
At Peugeot we pride ourselves on our uncompromised approach to quality, it is one of the key things that drives us. To complement the sharp exterior, the meticulous attention to detail inside the Peugeot 308 is everywhere to be seen.
From the full grain leather materials to the padded soft-touch dashboard with satin chrome detailing, the 'clock maker' inspired dials to the deep pile carpet mats on sports models, nothing has been overlooked.
A practical family hatchback needs to be able to accomodate all the things that come with family life and for the average British family that's an awful lot of stuff - anything from pushchairs to the weekly shop to a new set of patio furniture for the garden.
The great news is with Peugeot 308 there needn't be any worry, featuring a larger than average boot for its size of up to 470 litres (435 litres above the boot floor and up to 35 litres under the floor in spare the wheel well), this car can accomodate whatever life throws at it.
For increased load space a simple fold of the rear seats extends the load area up to 1309 litres.
